Detox and cleanse are two words I often hear and see in mainstream media. Beyonce’s infamous 21-day water cleanse to juice cleanses from popular juice bars promote weight loss and a healthier you! Those detox programs may work under special circumstances, but they can also be dangerous and extremely limiting. Personally, I much prefer a food detox or cleanse as a way to reset your system and create a happy, healthier you!

So, even though you will likely see weight loss with a restrictive liquid-based detox, most detox programs deprive the body of important nutrients.
