My Curly Hair Routine: Less Frizz and Fully Fab

My-Curl-Routine

It has taken me roughly 35 years to LOVE my curly hair. 35 years of trial and error, oyes and joys to feel empowered by wearing my hair curly. As a mixed woman, I grew up with a mom that had long, gorgeous, STRAIGHT hair. She always took the reins and never made me feel like my curls were anything but gorgeous. Unfortunately, society, lack of products for mixed girls and a modeling career where “ethnically ambiguous” was my role,  made me feel like my curls made me an outsider. Today, I see waves, curls and corkscrews in advertisements, on TV and all over social. We are in an era where we are embracing different and it is fabulous!

Target even has a whole aisle dedicated to ethnic hair and it is glorious! As a parent, it really takes a little time to get to know your child’s hair. Isn’t is amazing that you can create a human with a completely different hair texture than yours?! For my CJ, I use my Cantu conditioner and put a dime size amount in when wet, comb through and air dry. Easy, perfect, dirty blonde curls. It is wild and way too easy. For my hair, I have to work a bit harder. I wrote this post after my first curly cut in SF.

The products I share here have become the perfect cocktail for the bouncy, vivacious, frizz-free curls I have today!

Since many of you have requested a step-by-step. It is live over on my IGTV and you can shop all of my products here:
