Growing up my mom and dad captured every moment of our lives on film and video. A few times a year we binge watch home movies or look through old photographs and are bowled over with laughter re-living my brothers hyperactive excited antics and giggle at the go-with-the-flow nature that I have acquired as the middle child, sandwiched between two special brothers. It wasn’t until middle school that my mother made the brave decision to enter the workforce at an advertising agency in New York City. During that time she did everything from answering phones to offering up a fresh eye on contact sheets from a recent shoot. The office realized that she had more to offer than secretarial skills, a great eye, and was almost immediately promoted to Media Art Buyer of stock photography.

In what seemed like a whirlwind she was allowed the freedom to explore working with every department within the agency. She sat in on model castings, assisted in photoshoots and came to the realization that the creative part of advertising was where she was meant to be. From there, she went back to school and received her degree in Visual Communications and has built a wonderful career in photography, all because she was given the chance to answer phones in the ‘Big Apple’.
After looking at the big picture I feel that our stories are very similar. Not just because I lived in her tummy for nine months, but because our careers changed seemingly overnight. I went right towards a stable career as a teacher, only to take a quick detour that has transitioned into this wonderful journey in modeling, health and fitness. All because someone took a chance on me…Big thanks to my super agent Topher!
So, with that said, who better to collaborate with than the person who has been photographing me my whole life? Judy Walker AKA ‘Mama Judes’ and I will be bringing you a ‘Fit Fashion’ collaboration. Many days I feel like I live my life in spandex, but like any girl, there are days I love to strap on a killer pair of heels and head out on the town. From South Beach to New York City comfort is key. So, this on-going collaboration will show how I pair some of my favorite fitness pieces into everyday life.
