“The Goldie Workouts”
You know those people that just make you smile whenever they are around? Well Jolie DellaValle, the creator of the “Goldie Workout”, is one of those people. Jolie’s older sister Jocelyn is one of my best friends. We danced together at Towson University, and she was my partner in crime during freshman year. From there we have remained thick as thieves. We stood by each others side on our wedding days, and lifelong friends we shall remain. Getting to know Jocelyn’s family over the years has been so much fun! The DellaValle’s are an extremely musical family, and when Jolie decided to write a children’s book, she picked up a yukalali, and brought her book, ‘Georgie and the Ants in the Pants’ to life. If you are a teacher in the New Jersey area, make sure to get her into your classroom ASAP! Check out her passion project Georgie and the Ants in the Pants here.
Jolie is a modern day entrepreneur, following her dreams, and building a life see loves brick by brick. Aside from being a child miracle worker and author, Jolie is also a personal trainer who wants to empower women to be the best that they can be! Jolie found a love for exercise as an anxious teen , and quickly realized that if you treat your body well the benefits are through the roof. Her goal is to help her clients reach their highest potential, and realize their own personal power!
After I saw Jolie’s posts on “The Goldie Workouts” I knew I needed to share them with all of my amazing readers! Why? Because they obviously get results, and they can fit into anyones hectic schedule! So who is this Goldie person? Goldie is one of Jolie’s childhood besties of course, and her results are in the photo above! Aren’t they incredible? I have been telling all of you since I started this blog…you can get life changing results from the comfort of your own home, in minimal time, with the use of ONLY your own body weight. Goldie is the mom of a toddler who was in need of workouts that would fit her erratic lifestyle, and thus “The Goldie Workouts” were born.
Here is an example of the first Goldie Workout! Give it a try and if you love it subscribe to Jolie’s Newsletter here!
Commit to completing this workout a minimum of 3 times within a 1 week period. Then you can move on to the next workout for the next week. Each week they will get a little harder!
Look at your schedule and the decide in advance when you can squeeze this 20 minute workout in! If something pops up, or you have to change the time- so be it! Have it scheduled, and the intentions to do it. That is #1!
The moves can be modified. Whether you are a beginner or more advanced, you can make this workout as challenging as it needs to be for you.
Check in with yourself and make sure you are doing your best!
Below is the description of the workout along with a short video where I explain each move (make sure you watch it- I give other tips too.)
The workout is 10 moves, 1 minute each, with a short rest in between. Repeat the circuit twice.
If you need a longer rest in between, then take it. If you can only do the move for 30-45 seconds, then that’s ok to! This is your workout!
The goal is, as always, to simply DO YOUR BEST! What makes this workout so awesome is that it’s only 20 minutes- but you want to make the most out of that time and push yourself to your highest potential. It will feel very intense halfway through that first circuit- but that is good, and that is the whole point! That means your WORKING! That is when change happens! Take minimal breaks, and give it your all!
2 other important things.
#1- In the beginning I was using a stopwatch, and it was annoying to keep checking the time. Do yourself a favor and download this app: TABATA PRO. It’s a timer- but you can set it for a WORK and REST period. (so I have it set for 1 minute of work, 10 seconds of rest. A little beep goes off!).
#2- MUSIC! Listen to music that pumps you up! Music is everything! Make yourself a 20 minute playlist that will keep you feeling motivated!
