Picture this. You are pregnant. You get off a 6 A.M. flight, hop in your car and head home. Your tummy begins to rumble,  but it is no big deal because you ate breakfast and are only a few miles from home. Suddenly, traffic screeches to a halt, streets shut down and you sit in bumper to bumper traffic for almost two extra hours, turning a 30-minute ride into a 3-hour event! This only happened once, but it taught me a major lesson. NEVER LEAVE THE HOUSE WITHOUT SNACKS! I have always been a big snacker. I posted this blog a while back about the importance of snacking and over time really began to take notice of how snacking not only keeps my energy up, but it stops me from over-indulging.

I usually tell people to have their sugar or fruit-based snack in between breakfast and lunch and a more savory, protein-packed snack between lunch and dinner.
