Happy Tuesday everybody! I have been really excited to share this post because not only have I gotten the opportunity to collaborate with Gap Factory GapFit, and have them sponsor this post, but I also got to collaborate with my favorite photographer…my mom [Judy Walker of Judy Walker Photography]! If you remember our first shoot together from last April, I am amazed by how much the both of us have grown in the last 365 days; mom in her photographic skills and me in modeling and fitness. It has been so great to share such a special time in our lives. When I told her about the Gap Factory GapFit collaboration we knew we had to do something bright and fun that truly let the integrity of the All-American brand shine through. She has after all…been dressing me in the brand since I came out of the womb.
Now over the past few years I have been living in different forms of spandex! Shorts, tights, tanks and more sports bras than you could ever imagine…so I do consider myself a bit of an expert when it comes to fitness clothes. The one thing I have to say is that comfort is key. I want to feel secure, but I don’t want to feel restricted. I think the reason why athleisure has become such a big trend is that you can achieve eye-acting looks where you feel put together, polished and professional; without sacrificing comfort.
When Gap Factory GapFit offered up a gift card to pick out a GapFit outfit. Honesty, I did not know what to expect, but I was pleasantly surprised with the different options they offered online! Bright colors and patterns just in time for summer; however, when I received the items I was blown away by how well done the ombre was on the tights, the fabric was soft and comfortable, and the colors and support of the bra were nearly perfect. My new outfit checked every box of satisfaction on my list: fit, style, comfort and color were all fab! I got a size small in everything, but I think I could have got an XS in the tank. It was little big in the belly area, but a quick side knot and we were in business. With that said, I would rather have my tanks a little bigger because there is nothing worse than putting on a shirt during during that ‘time of the month’ or after you eat a cheeseburger, and all it does is highlight your protruding lower belly area.
So what do any the fancy words mean when you are shopping for athleisure/fitness gear?
Wicking: Helps Keep You Dry.
Four Way Stretch: All Over Stretch…and believe me you need that during exercise.
Water Resistant: Water Won’t Soak Through.
Two Way Stretch: Provides Comfort and Mobility.
Compression: Smoothing Fabric That Provides Support During Your Workout.
Breathable: Keeps You Comfortable Allowing Moisture To Escape.
After shooting this look I was free to actually move and exercise in my new outfit. Here is what I found…
The Gfast Ombre Capri [Now on sale for $21.99] stayed put and didn’t droop in the crotch or behind. The compression pant provides four-way stretch and support. Flat-lock seams create smooth lines and helps to reduce chaffing, and it also features an added coin pocket to hold small valuables. Let’s be honest though…I rarely use the tiny pockets to hold anything except my Aldi quarter to get my shopping cart. lol I got tons of compliments on the happy blue ombre! Again these tights are a showstopper and would pair just as well with a plain black or grey tank for use to run around town doing everyday errands. The Strappy Sports Bra is also made of four-way compression, and was supportive of my B chest during every type of workout I did this week. Barre, Yoga and Bootcamp. I didn’t feel constricted, but I didn’t feel like I was going to spill over and give everyone a show. The Factory GapFit Performance Tank is Breathable, it helps keep you dry and comfortable allowing moisture to escape and air to enter. It is lightweight and doesn’t cling in the belly if you don’t want it to. Everything washed extremely well in cold water and didn’t bleed in the least. I am so happy that GapFit sponsored this post because after working with so many different brands sometimes I feel like spending good money on quality fitness gear is the way to go! That is not always the case because not only are these items majorly affordable, but they will easily carry me through my hectic lifestyle from teaching, through my workouts and beyond!
So just remember…Gap Factory’s GapFit line delivers quality-training clothes for the non-professional athlete. From Barre, to Spin, to yoga, these stylish pieces will take you from studio to street and everywhere in between. I hope you love this look, and if you pick up any of these pieces comment below with which ones you have and why you love them!
