Welcome to Mental Health Awareness Month! Over the past few years I have been very open about my struggle with Postpartum Anxiety. I struggled and still struggle sometimes to find my rhythm and balance it all. During the worst of it, I reached out to my OB to discuss my options and counseling was recommended. I was able to get postpartum help for my anxiety and even had a couple of breastfeeding lactation consultations  through Baptist Health’s Care on Demand App.  I wanted to take a moment today to share how helpful and effective Telehealth can be during this time.

Many of us are struggling right now with anxiety due to COVID-19 and those who have been diagnosed with anxiety and depression may be finding it even harder to cope during this time of unrest. Many people are understandably feeling scared, anxious and stressed during this COVID-19 pandemic. It is valid to want to talk to someone about your feelings, says Rachel Rohaidy, M.D., a psychiatrist with Baptist Health South Florida. Unfortunately, with social distancing measures in place, it can be even harder for many to seek support from family, friends or professionals.

Thankfully, we live in a time where telementalheath services are serving us in a major way right now and I wanted to share a little more about Care on Demand. Telehealth is incredible, especially during SIP because it allows people to have access to health professionals without carrying the risk of acquiring infection.
