30 Days to Living Healthy and Beyond…Time to Cleanse!

I have known Jocelyn and Marc since our crazy days at Towson University. Jocelyn has always been an inspiration of mine in both her studies and life. Although I rarely sell anything through this blog, I wanted to share her and her hubbies story for a couple of reasons. One, they are two of the most beautiful people I have …

Rethink Your Drink Florida-Refined Sugar Twitter Chat

This Friday we are talking refined sugar with our friends at the American Heart Association. What is refined sugar? When many of us think sugar, we think of the superbly sweet tiny white granules. In actuality, this sugar is far from its natural state, extremely refined, and throughout the refining process, natural  sugar is stripped of all its original beneficial …

Herbed Fish With Vegetable Curry

A few weeks ago I posted about baked Alaskan Cod. White fish is back this week, but with a tropical curry twist. You know the drill, freezing temps, pajamas, movies and great take out. …

Fall Kale and Brussels Salad

Cory and I just celebrated our first year of marriage. Time has flown by. It feels like yesterday that I put on the white dress and walked down the longest aisle ever in the Cadet Chapel at West Point. It was the most perfect day shared with our family and friends. This weekend we celebrated with food, food, wine and more …

Lentilicious-My Secret To Waistline Management

I get a lot of inquiries about what I eat. I love sharing my recipes, but what works for me may not work for you. We all have different genetic makeup, and losing weight or gaining muscle may be easier for some than it is for others, but I think one thing we all have in common is the excitement …

Chia Seed Pudding Parfait

I love dishes that are quick, healthy and can be replicated in many ways. I cook meal after meal, but when I find something I love…I have the tendency to eat it on a daily basis. Boring! Lucky for me this recipe is just a vehicle for my favorite flavors and can be done in so many ways. You have …

Summer Peach Inspired Pizza and Dessert!

Peaches are one of those things that only remind me of happy times. My grandmother would can peaches in Lancaster, PA where she lived with my grandpa. She would always have some ready to go as an afternoon refreshing treat or as a post dinner dessert while we were visiting. They were canned in a sweet simple syrup only to make …

Mediterranean Bok Choy

One day I was at my local Milam’s market and I saw fresh  baby bok choy. I knew that night I was making my husbands favorite chicken dish, Chicken Marbella, and I had only seen bok choy in Asian inspired dishes so I walked on by. Until, I realized I only had sweet potatoes as a side dish. I always …

Southwest Black Bean Burgers

I get a little nostalgic about the black bean burger because it was the first time on my clean eating journey that I had to decide what to eat while out in the “real world”, aka the Jay-Z concert at BB & T in January. The Wilhelmina Fitness Contest Finals were a mere three weeks away and I was on …

Quinoa Breakfast Hash With Fresh Greens

When deciding what to eat for breakfast it usually comes out of desperation concocted by my morning routine. I also didn’t have that much time as I had places to go …

Baked Salmon With Spicy Beluga Lentils, Lemon Asparagus and Greek Yogurt-Dill Dipping Sauce

When I was a little girl, I would literally cry when my parents made fish for dinner. At that point in …

Welcome to #NoWalkerRequired A series where Mille Welcome to #NoWalkerRequired

A series where Millenial parents encourage their parents to get stronger. Today’s workout is one simple exercise 3 different ways.

Getting up out of a chair is a major predictor of longevity. Use this as a precursor for what is to come.

5 Sit to Stands
8 Weighted Stands
10 Heel Raises
5 Slow Squat Hover to Stands

Rest and repeat at least four times. Stretch.

As always, check with your healthcare provider before doing any exercise and over the next 12 episodes we will progress in movement and strength. #TeamTWF
Dance: My first love and something that now feels Dance: My first love and something that now feels so foreign to me 16 years later.

BUT, I told myself I would face my fear and start dancing again.

So I ripped the bandaid off with an online class on @areafiftyfour. Baby steps.

It wasn’t pretty and Cory thought I was doing karate. 😂, but moral of the story is…I did it. Maybe Jazz should be my starting point. LOL

Where are the #NYCDancers taking class these days?
